Child Sponsorship – Africa

IRHORFU has now been running a child sponsorship program since 2013. We believe in child sponsorship because it connects people like you with children that are miles away, and gives you the opportunity to develop a unique personal relationship with your sponsor child. Each sponsor child gets the opportunity to go to school, a new school uniform, lunchtime health meals, exercise books and all stationary, and access to First Aid. You can sponsor a child in Africa and give them a future today. A lot of people in the world have a heart of charity that is to say helping those in need but don't know how to do it. IRHORFU as an organization working in the most local vulnerable villages of Uganda gives a chance to people who would like to contribute to the betterment of the lives of the children suffering due to lack of any one/relative to help. Sponsorship is a great way to experience the joy of helping a needy child, and make a long-term difference in his or her life.

What is a sponsor?

To become a sponsor is to extend friendship and love to a desperately needy child in East Africa. War, drought, famine and disease have left thousands of children orphaned or in extreme poverty in this part of the world. Every day is a life and death struggle for children not strong enough to withstand disease because hunger has weakened their tiny bodies. Your monthly gift will provide a basic education, and other necessities such as medical care, clothing, etc. Not only will you be a tremendous blessing to the child you assist, but in turn you will experience great joy as you see your child mature and grow.

How much does it cost to sponsor a child?

From just $20-$40 per month you can help to give a child a brighter future.

Can I write to my sponsored child?

Yes! We encourage you to write letters to your child. Your child will write back to you, but please remember that many of them have never been to school before and they English and hand writing is not good.

How often should I write to my child?

We recommend up to two times a year. However it is entirely up to yourself, so if you are not a writer, please do not feel that you must write every month.

Can I send gifts (toys, clothes etc. ) to my sponsored child ?

All children love to receive gifts! However, there are many obstacles to overcome in sending gifts to developing countries such as Uganda. We recommend not sending large gifts to your child but perhaps including small gifts with your letter. Sponsors wishing to give a gift at Christmas time may do so by sending up to $25 to the Sponsorship Department.

What do I receive?

• A photo and short personal history of your child.
• The opportunity to correspond with your child, who will write to you 3 times a year.
• A history of the child’s native country
• The Joy of knowing you’re making a difference to a needy child
